Join us at the Brazilian Climate Finance Forum to explore the G20 Initiative on Bioeconomy.
G20 has a unique and influential role to play in addressing some of the world’s key current challenges, including the intertwined nature and climate crises.
Brazil’s G20 presidency (2024) is committed to social inclusion, sustainable development, and global reform. Recently, it launched an Initiative on Bioeconomy* to place the nature economy at the center of financial and economic architecture. The initiative has the ultimate goal of creating a set of “High-Level Principles on Bioeconomy” that can influence the global economy and integrate a negotiated outcome into the Rio Declaration at the end of the Brazilian Presidency, in November 2024.
On the 28th and 29th of February, finance ministers and central bank governors from across G20 countries will gather in São Paulo to discuss the world’s most pressing issues at their inaugural meeting.
Ahead of this, NatureFinance and Itaúsa are convening civil society, financial actors, and government representatives in two panels to explore G20’s Initiative on Bioeconomy, during the Bioeconomy Afternoon at the Brazilian Climate Finance Forum** – an official event of G20 social.
Taking place on the 27th of February at the Aya Hotel in São Paulo, the events will:
- Explore the breadth of views on the bioeconomy
- Demonstrate why the bioeconomy is a viable path to climate, nature and social development solutions
- Discuss the window of opportunity that the bioeconomy represents
Translation into English, and Portuguese will be provided.
