Terratai joins Nature Investor Circle, a growing community of early-stage investors, thought leaders and scientists working to catalyse nature-positive investments.
Nature markets are being shaped by a new wave of businesses, frameworks and initiatives designed to create economic value by harnessing nature in equitable, regenerative ways.
Early-stage investors will play a crucial role in supporting these “paradigm shifters”.
To provide early-stage investors with the resources, networks and capacities they need to make smart investment decisions, NatureFinance launched Nature Investor Circle in October 2022.
Nature Investor Circle is a dynamic community supported by partners that share a vision for nature-positive investments backed by science. It’s a space where early-stage investors can connect, share and learn from other pioneers in the market.
Speaking about the new addition of Terratai to the Nature Investor Circle community, NatureFinance Executive Director Simon Zadek said:
“NatureFinance is honoured and excited to add Terratai to our growing list of Nature Investor Circle partners. Each partner brings a different perspective to the community, but we all agree on the need to increase the scale and quality of investments in early-stage businesses that will influence the next generation of equitable, nature-positive markets.”
Lena Thiede from Planet A Ventures, one of the inaugural founding partners, said:
“Planet A welcomes the new addition to Nature Investor Circle. The biodiversity crisis has been treated as distinct from the climate crisis, yet there is a huge overlap between the two. Nature Investor Circle will share knowledge, drive debates and provide a platform for early-stage investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers to better assess, valorise and invest in natural capital in order to build an economy within the planetary boundaries.“
Terratai is Asia’s first venture builder for nature, focusing on early-stage delivery of nature-based solutions that protect and restore nature. Bridging the gap between early-stage nature-based ventures and institutional capital, Terratai offers blended finance, tailored solutions and long-term engagement to support and scale impactful initiatives that address systemic challenges in our food systems that drive nature and biodiversity loss.
Speaking about the partnership with Nature Investor Circle, Founder & CEO Matthew Leggett said:
“At Terratai, we combine our deep nature and venture-building expertise with access to early-stage financing to de-risk investment into ground-breaking, planet-saving ideas to narrow the $800 billion nature finance gap. Joining Nature Investor Circle gives us the opportunity to learn from, accelerate and celebrate the ideas of other thought leaders in this space. We believe this will spark the kind of collective action and cross-market collaboration needed to radically scale up nature-first investments.”
